What paying does not buy
The feed. Every listing in it, in search and on your company page is ordered the same way regardless of who posted it or what they paid. What Starter buys is position in the Featured roles sections, which are marked as what they are and sit above the feed rather than inside it.
It does not make a role easier to approve either: Starter gets yours read sooner, not judged more gently, and anything the automated check is unsure about goes to a person either way.
And in the email to candidates, a block labelled “Paid placement” is where Starter roles appear. It sits under the roles chosen the ordinary way, never among them, and it is at most a third of the issue. Readers are each sent a different few of them rather than the same few going to everybody, which is what keeps a place in it worth having as more employers subscribe: the block is shared out across the list instead of rationed to whoever bought first.
And it changes nothing for the people applying. Candidates are never charged and never see which plan a role was posted on. Most roles send them straight to the employer with no account at all; a role that takes applications here asks them for a free one, which is what lets their profile and CV fill the form in.
Reaching the free limit
Nothing comes down. Roles you have already published stay published and keep receiving applications, and you can still edit and close them. What stops is publishing a new one — until a role closes, or you subscribe.
Questions
- Is posting really free?
- Yes. Up to 5 active roles, for as long as you like, with no card asked for. A free listing is a real listing: it appears in the same feed, in the same order, and it is held to the same rules before it goes up.
- What happens when I reach the limit?
- Nothing is taken down. Roles already published stay published and keep receiving applications. You cannot publish a new one until a role closes or you subscribe to Starter.
- Can I pay monthly?
- Yes, $12.90 a month. Paying for a year costs $118.80, which works out at $9.90 a month.
- Does paying guarantee my role is approved?
- No. Starter gets your role reviewed sooner, not approved more easily. A role that does not meet the rules is refused on either plan, and anything the automated check is unsure about is read by a person.
