Privacy

Last updated 6 October 2026. The short version: we collect an email address if you give us one, and anonymised traffic statistics. We do not sell anything to anyone.

Who is responsible

Actually Remote is an independent project run by one person. For anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data, write to arthur.silva1041@gmail.com.

What we collect

Your email address, if you give it

If you submit the newsletter form we store the address you typed and the page you submitted it from. Nothing else — no name, no profile. At the time of writing no newsletter has been sent, and every stored address is still unconfirmed. You can have yours removed at any time by writing to the address above; we do not require a reason.

Traffic statistics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and which roles people actually open, so we can list more of what is useful. It sets cookies and records a pseudonymous identifier, your approximate location from your IP address, and which pages you viewed. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.

Google’s advertising signals — ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization — are explicitly switched off. Nothing on this site asks you about advertising, so nothing here grants it on your behalf.

We are also setting up Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymised, aggregated interaction data such as scrolling and clicks to show where pages confuse people. It is not active at the time of writing.

Server logs

The web server keeps a short-lived access log containing IP addresses, timestamps and requested URLs. It rotates and is overwritten; it exists to debug errors and spot abuse, and is not analysed for anything else.

Advertising

There are no adverts on this site today. The project is intended to be funded by advertising rather than by charging either job seekers or employers, so this will change. When it does, this page will say which network is used and what it sets, and visitors in the EEA and the UK will be asked for consent before any advertising cookie is set.

What we never do

Applying to a role means leaving this site for the employer’s own posting. What happens there is covered by their privacy policy, not this one.

Where the data lives

On a single rented server in São Paulo, Brazil. Analytics data is held by Google on its own infrastructure under its terms.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the LGPD you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. One email to arthur.silva1041@gmail.com is enough. Given how little is stored, deletion is usually immediate.

You can also stop analytics at the browser level with any content blocker, and the site will work exactly the same.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes on the same day, and the date at the top moves with it.
